Celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Day with Cheese Grotto – A Sustainable Solution for Cheese Lovers
As someone who loves cheese, I’m excited to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day on April 21st by learning about the innovative Cheese Grotto – a storage and serving device that’s like a humidor for cheese! The Cheese Grotto is the brainchild of Jessica Sennett, the founder of the company based in New York City. Read on to find out about the Cheese Grotto, its sustainable production process, and how it can help you store your favorite artisanal cheeses in the best way possible.
I’ve always been curious about the proper way to store cheese, so my interest was immediately piqued when I heard about the Cheese Grotto. Jessica Sennett came up with the idea for the Cheese Grotto while working in various jobs in the cheese industry. As someone who was often asked how to properly store cheese, she teamed up with an engineer to create the Cheese Grotto. This Made in America (upstate New York!) device is crafted from Birchwood and breathable Bamboo and its pull-out shelf can serve as a cheese board. The Cheese Grotto creates a micro-environment that maintains temperature, humidity, and airflow, just like a cheese aging cave, and has been scientifically proven to preserve artisanal cheeses up to three times longer than plastic and cheese paper.
I’m also impressed by the Cheese Grotto’s sustainable production process. I believe in supporting environmentally friendly products, and everything about the Cheese Grotto is sustainable. From the way it is built by hand with all-natural or recycled materials, to the cheese and other food partners they work with, Cheese Grotto is a great example of a company that cares about the environment. Cheese Grotto sources their cheeses from American artisan cheesemakers while the accompaniments are from other specialty food producers. The bamboo used for Grotto shelves, knives, and cheese boards is a sustainable, stronger alternative to wood, while the black shelving is made from recycled paper and tree resin. Further, Cheese Grotto’s slate boards are quarried locally and sustainably in New York state.
Whether you’re a cheese enthusiast like me or just someone who wants to learn more about sustainable solutions, the innovative Cheese Grotto is a must-have product that’s perfect for anyone who loves artisanal cheeses!
So, smile, say “CHEESE”, and get yourself your very own Cheese Grotto!
