Disney Parks celebrated the 50th Anniversary of “It’s A Small World” theme park attraction in a BIG way…a big huge fun global way!Ā Throughout the day yesterday (4/10), Disney Parks guests participated in events in all five resorts around the world, including in-park sing-alongs, cavalcades, and special musical performances for the It’s a Small World 50th Anniversary. Richard M. Sherman, the OscarĀ®-winning songwriter who composed āItās a Small Worldā with his late brother, Robert, led a sing-along at Disneyland Park in California and participated in a Google Hangout that can be seen at SmallWorld50.com. You can also visit SmallWorld50.com toĀ build your own doll and record yourself singing “It’s A Small World”. For each doll created and song recorded Disney Parks will donate $1 toward UNICEF.
I joined a group of bloggers invited to witness the choir perform live at Disneyland as it broadcast on Good Morning America. I set foot in Disneyland for the first time and (pinch me) Then able to visit the Park before opening to see this amazing performance!
Our group experienced the “It’s A Small World” attraction in a replica of one of the original boats from half a century ago!! I love that the Imagineers at Disneyland added some of Disney’s most beloved characters into the attraction. We also had a little fun with Mickey while we were there….who can resist that sweet Mouse?!! Check out some pictures of the event at Disneyland and also a few from the celebration at Walt Disney World. Watch the video for a glimpse of this piece of Disney history;
