This past weekend I had the opportunity to visit Hersheypark and the Attractions, Entertainment, and Resorts that are part of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. As part of the Sweet Welcome media event, I was able to experience many of the things that Hershey Entertainment & Resorts has to offer during the holiday season. I have visited the Hershey area during both the winter and summer months. Although it’s a destination that has plenty to enjoy no matter what the season, there is something extra magical about visiting during the holidays. You can’t help but be filled with the spirit of the season while here. It’s truly a place that covers you in a blanket of warm cozy Christmas cheer.
I’m planning on returning once more this holiday season and will be making a trip to Hershey a new family tradition each year going forward; that’s how much I loved it! Here are my top five reasons why you should make a visit to Hershey, PA part of your holiday travel plans:
1. Â Hersheypark Christmas Candylane
Hersheypark Christmas Candylane is a festive, fun-filled, jingle bell rockin’ good time! Noel, the beautiful holiday light show that takes place in the Hollow in Hersheypark,  is spectacular. This “must-see” show features over 200,000 twinkling lights that dance to holiday tunes. There are four renditions of the show, (which runs every half hour starting at 5 pm each evening) each with different music. If you can catch more than one show, you’ll see and hear different synchronized lights and music. At Santa’s Stables you can visit with real live reindeer. Yes…I said real live reindeer. And then you can visit with the jolly man himself at Santa’s Candy Cottage. There’s an ice skating rink, storytime with one of Santa’s elves, and a delightful stage show called A Music Box Christmas: The Littlest Tree.
As if that wasn’t enough, there are over 40 rides operating at Hershey Christmas Candylane including their newest indoor coaster Laff Trakk. The Attraction definitely lives up to it’s name; my friend Kelly from thecentsiblelife.com  could not stop laughing while riding and spinning along the tracks!
2. Â Hershey Sweet Lights
Jump in the car with the whole family and drive through a wooded trail sparkling with nearly 600 animated light displays! The Sweet Lights are spread out over 2 miles. The holidays in Hershey are sure to delight the even the grumpiest of Scrooges!
3. Â A Chocolate Avenue Christmas: Christmas Dinner Theatre at Hershey Lodge
A Chocolate Avenue Christmas: Christmas Dinner Theatre at Hershey Lodge is a wonderful way to celebrate holidays in Hershey! The Cast members from the show serenade each table with classic Christmas Carols before their performance bringing back the old fashioned feel of Christmas! A delicious three-course meal is served then you’re treated to a Broadway-style song & dance show that beautifully demonstrates why “Christmas Is The Best Time Of The Year”! The Cast Members are so talented, and the show is heart-warming and funny. You’ll leave the Theatre humming the holiday tunes and full of joyful spirit!
4. Breakfast With Santa
Breakfast With Santa is offered at Hershey Lodge, The Hotel Hershey, Hersheypark, and at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Children (and adults too because who doesn’t like bacon & Santa?! ) can enjoy meeting Santa, singing songs, storytime, cookie decorating, and “ho ho whole” lot of fun during the holidays in Hershey!
5. Â Hershey Lodge
During my visit, I stayed at the Hershey Lodge. The Lodge is the perfect place for a holiday getaway; the minute you walk in the lobby doors you are enveloped in the warmth of the Lodge’s charming atmosphere. The holiday decor along with the stone and wood architecture of the Lodge makes it feel as if you’ve stepped right into one of the Christmas Cottages from a Dept. 56 display! There are roaring fireplaces ( yes…plural ..fireplaces…you can never be too cozy!) and a huge sleigh as well as a large Christmas tree and garlands of lights  adorning stairway railings. The Hershey Lodge is just bursting with holiday happiness!
As you can see there is so much to do at the holidays in Hershey. Be sure to plan your visit as soon as possible. Make this holiday season one of your “sweetest” yet! I will be posting more about my Sweet Welcome experience in the coming week. I can’t wait to share all of the fantastic things Hershey Entertainment & Resorts has to offer!

I have a group of girlfriends from the VA area who visit Hershey Park every year, and every year, I have Hershey Envy. Your post, and your pictures and videos make it more clear than ever why they keep going back, year after year!
